PDF documents can be viewed in Firm360. To view documents, click on the red PDF icon. The updated viewing experience leverages the browser's built-in PDF viewer for a smoother and more seamless experience. Client viewing experience will be based on the browser as well. Please note that the viewing experience will vary depending on the browser you're using.
Viewing documents in Google Chrome
In Chrome, set the default behavior for PDF documents to Open PDFs in Chrome:
- In Chrome, click the three dots on the top right of your browser and click Settings towards the bottom of the menu.
- On the left-hand menu, click Privacy and Security.
- Click Site Settings at the bottom.
- Scroll down and select Additional Content settings.
- Select PDF documents.
- Change the default behavior to Open PDFs in Chrome
Navigate to any document on the Documents Search tab or on the client’s Documents tab. Click on the red PDF icon to view the PDF document.
- Rename the PDF document
- Show or Hide the Menu Bar (Menu Bar includes the Thumbnails and Document Outline)
- Thumbnails: View thumbnails to help users quickly navigate and locate specific sections of a document, by displaying miniature versions of the pages.
- Document Outline: The document outline serves as a navigation tool that displays a hierarchical list of headings, chapters, or sections within the document. The outline is especially helpful in long or complex documents, offering a streamlined way to navigate and access important content.
- Zoom: Zoom in or out on the pdf document.
- Fit to Page/Width: Will auto-adjust the zoom on the document to either fit to page or fit to width.
- Rotate Counterclockwise: Allows the document to be rotated.
- Download: Ability to download the pdf while viewing
- Print: Ability to print the pdf while viewing

Viewing documents in Microsoft Edge
In Microsoft Edge, set the default behavior for PDF documents to Open PDFs:
- In Edge, click the three dots on the top right corner of your browser.
- Click Settings towards the bottom of the menu.
- Click Cookies and Site Permissions on the left-hand menu.
- Scroll down and click on PDF Documents
- Turn off the option that says Always download PDF Files (This must be toggled off to view documents in Firm360)
- Turn on the option that says PDF view Settings files
Navigate to any document on the Documents Search tab or on the client’s Documents tab. Click on the red PDF icon to view the PDF document.
- Rename the PDF document
- Show or Hide the Table of Contents (Table of Contents includes the Thumbnail View and List View)
- Thumbnail View: View thumbnails to help users quickly navigate and locate specific sections of a document, by displaying miniature versions of the pages.
- List View: The document outline serves as a navigation tool that displays a hierarchical list of headings, chapters, or sections within the document. The outline is especially helpful in long or complex documents, offering a streamlined way to navigate and access important content.
- Tools: Editing Tools(Highlight, Draw, Erase & Add Text) The tool bar options that are presented to edit PDF Documents will not be saved to the PDF.
- Read Aloud
- Zoom: Zoom in or out on the pdf document.
- Fit to Page/Width: Will auto-adjust the zoom on the document to either fit to page or fit to width.
- Page Number: Allows you to see what page number you are viewing out of how many total pages
- Rotate Counterclockwise: Allows the document to be rotated.
- Page View: Allows you to change the page view from 1 to 2 pages
- Find: Allows you to search for specific words in the PDF document
- Print: Ability to print the pdf while viewing
- Save: Ability to save the pdf while viewing. If you choose to edit/markup the document you will need to save the new version of the PDF document to your computer and upload the new version.

Viewing documents in Safari
In Safari, set the default behavior for PDF documents to Open PDFs:
1. Open Safari and go to Settings (Safari > Settings or Preferences).
2. Click the Websites tab.
3. Scroll down to PDF Documents (on the left panel).
4. Make sure "Open PDFs in Safari" is selected instead of "Download PDFs".
Editing the PDF Document
The PDF viewer tool options that are available in Microsoft Edge and Chrome to edit the PDF document will not be saved to the PDF.
Please use the Edit PDF button to edit in Adobe.
Scroll to the bottom of the PDF document and click on the blue Edit PDF button to automatically check out the PDF document and Edit in Adobe.
The PDF viewer toolbar options that are presented to edit the document (highlight/draw/fill out fields/etc.) will not be saved to the PDF.
"Edits to the PDF in this view will not be saved. Please use the Edit PDF button to edit in Adobe."
