Firm360 allows your entire team to message clients directly within the platform, ensuring everyone stays on the same page and preventing tasks from slipping through the cracks when an employee is out.
- For individual clients, both the Primary Contact and Spouse will receive messages.
- For other entity types, only the Primary Contact will receive messages.
You can also automate messages to send when a project reaches a specific status within project templates.
Important Notes:
- Maximum characters allowed: 65535.
- User must have Client Messaging User Role
Client Messaging - “Messages” Tab Within Client
Clicking the Messages tab will open the client’s message center shown above.
From here, you can:
Click the Messages tab to open the client’s message center.
Use the Inbox, Sent, and Archive buttons to navigate between message folders.
Use the search bar to quickly locate specific messages.
Click + Compose to send a new message directly to the client.
To update messages in bulk, select the applicable messages and click the gear icon to view available bulk actions.
To assign or reassign a message, click the user (U) icon next to the message and select the appropriate team member.
Create a Task from a Message
To create a task directly from a message, click the three dots (Actions menu) on the right side of the message and select “Create task from message.”
A pop-up window will appear where you can complete the task details and optionally link it to a project.
Note: Whatever is entered in the “Name” field will become the task name.
Create a Document from a Message
You can also generate a document from a message by clicking the three dots (Actions menu) on the right side and selecting “Create document from message.”
This allows you to quickly convert message content into a document tied to the client.

Sending Client Messages in Bulk
1. Click on global Client tab
2. Select clients to send the messages to
3. Click gear drop down
4. Click Bulk Send Client Message
5. Fill out the information needed for the message and click send
Client Messaging - Client Portal View
Below is the “Dashboard View” of the Client Portal. Unread messages appear here.
Below is the view from the Client Portal “Messages” tab.
- Clients can filter messages by individual entity types. Clients can also toggle between their inbox, sent messages and trash found on the left side of the screen.
- Clients can compose a message by clicking the blue “Compose” button. The popup below will appear. (Note- Clients must choose an entity type to associate the message with. Clients have the ability to include an attachment within the message.)
Client Messaging - Messaging Notifications and Managing
You can turn on and off Client Messaging Notifications by clicking the gear in the upper right corner next to your name, then clicking “profile”. Make sure to click “Save” once you have updated your preferences.
If email notifications seem too overwhelming for you then you can manage messages simply by clicking the envelope icon next to your name in the upper right corner.
All client messages will appear here, leaving the unread messages in bold. You can also see all firm wide sent messages by clicking into the “Sent” tab.
Client Messaging - Messaging within Projects

Automatically tie certain messages to a specific project by sending your client a message directly through the “Messages” tab within a specific project.
Within the “Messages” tab you will be able to compose a message that will be directly sent to the client regarding the specific project.
On this page you can easily search through messages by using the search bar on the right side of the screen within the Inbox, Sent messages, and Trash.
Client Messaging - Automate Messages within Project Templates
Automatically send out messages to clients when a project hits a certain status but adding in specific messages within your project templates.

Client Messaging - Message Templates
Message Templates give you the ability to send precomposed messages to clients quickly and seamlessly without wasting any time retyping or copy and pasting the same message again and again.
