ADMIN - Setting Up Multi-Factor with SMS Authentication for Users

Firm360 requires Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to help protect user accounts and sensitive client data.

MFA adds an extra layer of security during login. Users must enter:

  1. Their username and password, and

  2. A secure verification code sent at the time of login.

This additional step helps prevent unauthorized access, even if a password is compromised.

Admin Setup: SMS MFA for a User

Firm Admins can configure SMS-based MFA for users. To complete setup, the Admin will need the user’s mobile phone number.

Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Users from the left-hand menu and select the applicable user.

  2. Enter or confirm the user’s mobile phone number.

  3. Enable or set up MFA (SMS verification).

Once configured, the user will receive a secure code via text message each time they log in.

4. Choose SMS Code Authentication

5. Save

Once configured, the user will receive a secure code via text message each time they log in.

Why Require MFA?

MFA helps:

  • Protect confidential client information

  • Reduce the risk of unauthorized account access

  • Strengthen your firm’s overall security posture
