In Firm360, individual client names are system-generated based on the assigned Primary and Spouse contacts. Because of this, the client name field may appear grayed out and cannot be edited directly.
Why the Name Field Is Locked
For individual clients, the entity name is automatically created using:
- The Primary contact name
- The Spouse contact name (if applicable)
This ensures consistency across client records and prevents discrepancies in reporting, billing, and documents.
How to Update an Individual Client Name
To update the displayed client name, you must update the associated contact(s):
Update the Primary Contact
- Open the client record
- Select the Primary contact
- Edit the contact’s name
- Save changes
Update or Remove the Spouse

In the case of a divorce or death, refer to the article in this link
The client name will automatically update based on these changes.
Important Notes
- The client name field cannot be edited directly for individual clients
