Parent-child billing allows you to bill multiple related clients under a single parent client. When enabled, invoices for child clients can be generated and consolidated under the parent.
Before generating an invoice, make sure:
Parent-Child billing relationships are established between clients.
Generate an Invoice for Parent-Child Billing
Navigate to the Billing Dashboard. When navigating from the Child's Billing screen you will be redirected to the Parent Billing Dashboard
Locate the parent client
Review the billable items associated with the parent and any linked child clients
Child entries display the child client name in grey, italicized text beneath the line item.Select the items you want to include in the invoice
Click Generate Invoice
Notes:
The invoice will include billable items from the parent and associated child clients based on your billing setup.
Invoices will not show the client names unless type in the line item descriptions
How It Works
Child client activity rolls up to the parent client for billing purposes
Invoices are generated under the parent client record
All selected billable items are consolidated into a single invoice
Important
Ensure parent-child relationships are configured correctly before generating invoices
Review all included billable items prior to finalizing the invoice
Changes to client relationships may impact which items appear on the invoice
Viewing Invoices for Child Clients
When you view invoices on a "Child" client, you will see a note indicating that the invoices are located under the "Parent" client’s billing details.
