This article provides an overview of the Billing Dashboard, including how to manage and generate invoices, track billing activity, and stay organized. The Billing Dashboard is grouped based on the invoice roll-up setting configured in Admin.
Navigating the Billing Dashboard
Period Ending Date: By default, the Period Ending date is set to the end of the last month if today’s date is before the 15th. If today’s date is after the 15th, it defaults to the end of the current month. You can modify this date by clicking the gray square and selecting the desired date.
Filter by Partner in Charge: You can filter the Billing Dashboard by selecting the Partner in Charge.

Advanced Criteria Dropdown- Can filter the Billing Dashboard by:
- Client
- Manager
- Bookkeeper
- User
- Billable Category - filter by multiple categories
- Billable Type
- Amount Over
- Location (note: only appears when Support Multiple Office Locations is enabled in the Admin Settings)
- Project Templates - Select All or any number of Project Templates and click Apply
- Any Client Custom Fields
- Search for a Client: To find a specific client, type their full or partial name in the search field and select the client from the list that appears.
Add a billable item
Enable Dashboard Collapsed View
If your Billing Dashboard contains numerous line items, you can enable the Collapsed View for improved visibility. To do so, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Admin > Settings > Billing/Invoicing (located in the bottom left corner).
- Toggle on the Enable Billing Dashboard Collapsed View option.
- Don’t forget to click Save at the bottom of the page.
This feature allows you to collapse line items, making it easier to navigate and manage your billing data.
Once the setting is enabled Navigate to your Billing Dashboard. Click on the down arrow to expand the client time entries when the collapsed view is enabled.
Sort Entries by Category or Project in Dashboard Collapsed View
In the collapsed view, you can choose to group line items either by category or project. This allows you to invoice only the items within the selected grouping. To switch between grouping by category or project, simply use the up/down arrows above the respective columns. Only the chosen items will be transferred to the invoice window modal.

Click directly into a Project from the Billing Dashboard: If a project is associated with a time entry, you can see the project, period/year, and project status on the billing dashboard. You can click the project name to go to the project.
Bulk Options for Client Line Items
- Carry Selected Items to Next Month: You may have some WIP that you are not ready to invoice these items can be carried forward to a selected date
- Exclude Selected Items from Invoice: Bulk update items to exclude from invoice
Never invoice Selected Items: Can be used when reviewing and processing Admin Non-Billable time. 'Never Invoice' is for Office time that you will never bill the client for. This time will not show on the Client Realization report.
- Bulk Update Selected Items: Allows you to Bulk Update the Associated, Project, Billable Category and Billable Type

- Reset All Changes: Resetting the billable items will revert both the amounts and the inclusion status on the invoice to their default settings.
Options for Individual Line Items
- Adjust Amount: Change the line item amount
- Carry to Next Month: Carry this selected item to a selected date
- Exclude from Invoice: Update item to exclude from invoice
Never invoice: Can be used when reviewing and processing Admin Non-Billable time. 'Never Invoice' is for Office time that you will never bill the client for. This time will not show on the Client Realization report.
- Edit Item: Allows you to edit all field for that specific line item
Preview and Invoice from the Billing Dashboard
Invoice: After selected items you are ready to invoice click the Invoice button to be taken to the Invoice Modal. View this link for detailed directions for Creating an Invoice.
Preview: Allows you to view what the invoice will look like before you click Submit on the Invoice modal.
Billing History Viewed on Billing Dashboard
Click on Show Billing History to see a detailed billing history for the Current Year and Previous Year
Billing History will show the following Client amounts:
- Invoiced this Year
- Invoiced Last Year
- Not Due Yet
- Past Due
- Monthly Breakdown
Exporting WIP
